Happy New Year!
We had a tremendous 2019! With CM Rick Jennings, II, we brought together over 1,200 volunteers to improve District 7 Parks!
We planted trees at Valley High Park (w/ Sacramento Tree Foundation & Mack Road Partnership) and Bill Conlin Sports Complex (w/ Pocket Little League). We cleaned up trash along the Sacramento River Parkway in the spring (w/ Rotary Club of Pocket/Greenhaven) and fall (with Pocket Area Congregations together), ensuring it wouldn’t end up polluting our beautiful river. We strung over 20,000 lights along the Pocket Canal Parkway. We worked with fantastic neighborhood associations and community groups, including South Pocket Homeowners Association, Deerfield/Mesa Grande Neighborhood Association, Charter Pointe Neighborhood Association, Portuguese Historical and Cultural Society & Capitol Lyons Club to collect over 10 tons of trash and leaves; mulch over 400 trees; paint over 100 signs benches, tables and & fixtures; and make our parks a safer, more beautiful place for our community to enjoy! Together we’re building a stronger community and increasing #SouthSidePride and #PocketPride in our city!
