In 2018 our community came together to light a stretch of the Pocket Canal Parkway for the holidays. We raised the money, hung the lights and brought the community together in celebration of the holiday season, the beauty of lights twinkling on water, and our wonderful community. In 2019 we extended the display another half a mile, completing the loop to Pocket Road.
In 2020, I think it’s all the more important that we can come together to brighten the holidays as a a community! If you can help make that happen, please consider a donation: https://giftstoshareinc.ejoinme.org/donate
I am so eternally grateful to Councilman Jennings, city staff, electrical contractors and the dozens of donors and volunteers who, together, made this happen.
I got so much wonderful feedback last year. Everyone I spoke to really, truly loved it and I was so proud to help make this happen. I got one complaint, though, why didn’t it go further. Little by little, over the next few years, we plan to answer that question and extend the lights further along the canals. But we need your help to make it happen.
